It is a Windows XP Professional machine.

Visual Studio 2010 (10.0.30319.1 RTMRel) & .Net Framework 4.0.30319 RTMRel

It is Visual Studio Premium.

Hi,
I'm afraid I get the same problem too:

MSI fails with "Error 1001. The installation failed, and the rollback has been performed --> Object reference not set to an instance of an object" followed by "Error 1001. Could not find file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\University of Pisa\VSLab\InstallerActions.InstallState'."

This is on 64bit Windows 7 Pro with VS 2010 Ultimate v10.0.40219.1 SP1 Rel and .NET Framework v4.0.30319 SP1 Rel.
Also, tried building the source, after a bit of fiddling got the msi to build but got same error as above.

And tried the msi downloaded from here on a 32bit Vista machine using VS Shell. There the msi worked but I got the repeated timeout error on start-up.

All very sad. I was really looking forward to trying this out. :-(

All the same, thank you Antonio for all the hard work! and I do hope this project keeps going!
